According to the British Safety Council (BSC), the Sword of Honour is awarded to the ‘best of the best’ projects with innovative Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management systems and practices that result in the best EHS performance. It is a matter of pride that as many as 55 of our projects have won this award over the years, and 8 more won the Sword of Honour in 2022.

To qualify for the Sword of Honour, a project should have achieved the maximum five stars (a minimum score of 92%)
in the BSC’s health and safety management audit scheme (the famed ‘Five Star Audit’) during the period August 2021 to July 2022. Selected projects must then make a qualitative submission about the salient features of their Health and Safety management system and their performance indicators for the same period. The BSC audit does not just observe the OHS implementation at site but also assesses the project against 55 elements which cover the organization’s leadership commitment, planning, implementation, performance monitoring and measurement, and steps taken for continuous improvement.
